The Raven Spa

I spend some wonderful down time with my fantastic niece Kanani Kroll at the Raven Spa. We both needed to reboot our bodies. She's a fitness trainer at bfearlessfitness and my body gets tired after a week of Chinese Medicine and bodywork. Needless to say, both of our jobs can be depleting. I'm not easy to please in this area.  I loved the ambiance, Morocco/Turkey meets Thailand. Since my eight months last year in Bali and Thailand, I have not felt that sense of peace that my weekly spa visits infused. But as we dropped down on our mats behind draped graceful curtains, I could hear a real fountain and authentic music [as opposed to generic spa music]. My treatment by Dada was strong but gentle. It was authentic Thai. I had explained my injuries prior and she tuned into each one of them. I dropped deeper into relaxation when I realized I could trust my therapist, two weeks ago my therapist at Beverly Hot Springs had left bruises of her thumbs down both arms.
The design and feeling of Raven, www.theravenspa.com does what Spa should do, it gave me a chance to pause from the outside world and tune into my body and spirit. It was simply wonderful to leave Venice outside and be transported back to some of my favorite destinations in the world.
Traditional Haman scrubs and wraps, using authentic Moroccan oils and herbs will be available soon and I can't wait to try them.
I'm really excited about their group space, and am incubating and idea for a spa and chocolate event there, for my friends. Look for it!
